Known properties : Traditionally used as an astringent to help relieve diarrhea.
Contains : Oak bark (Quercus alba), ratio 1:5, purified water, 27% natural grain alcohol.
Description : Internally, ark, leaves and acorns have been used to treat bleeding, tuberculosis, stomach pains, vaginal discharge, diarrhea, urinary incontinence and general weakness.
Because of its richness in tannin, the bark is astringent, which makes an excellent topical remedy to combat eczema and various skin diseases. Generally well tolerated by the skin, ti does not cause irritation. It was successfully used to treat eye inflammation, hemorrhoids, frostbite and anal fistulas.
It was also administered in vaginal douche to treat vaginal discharges and metritis, and as a gargle for treating sore throat, stomatitis and pharyngitis.
Recommended dosage : 1 tsp 3 times daily or as recommended by your health care practitioner.
Cautions and warnings : Consult a health care practitioner if you experience the following side effects : nausea, vomiting, stomach or abdominal pain. Do not use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Consult a health care practitioner before use if you take other plants, mineral supplements, medicines or if you have kidney and/or liver dysfunction.
