Contains : Slippery elm (inner bark) (Ulmus rubra), ratio 1:15, purified water, 52% natural grain alcohol.
Description : Slippery elm is used to treat inflammations and ulcerations of digestive tract, providing emollient and easily digestible food for convalescents, facilitate digestion, treat skin infections, inflammation of the mucous membranes, burns, abscesses, vaginitis and hemorrhoids.
The Food and Drug Administration has decreed that elm was a safe and effective product to soothe digestive tracts.
Elm is considered as a versatile softener, it exerts a beneficial action both on the throat than on the respiratory and gastrointestinal tracts. On the other hand, like most woody plants, elm contains complex substances called oligometric proanthocianidines which has antiseptic and anti-allergic action.
Although there was a very small amount of research on slippery elm, it is known that its phloem (inner bark) contains a large amount of mucilage which is attributed most of its therapeutic properties, especially to treat inflammations and irritations both internal and external.
Recommended dosage : 1 tbsp 2 to 3 times daily or as recommended by your health care practitioner.
