Known properties : Traditionally used in western herbalism as an expectorant for bronchitis, cough and laryngitis.
Contains : Blood root (Sanguinaria canadensis), ratio 1:5, purified water, 28% natural grain alcohol.
Description : Blood root promotes the removal of bronchial mucus by coughing. It is used against chronic bronchitis, and because of its antispasmodic effect, against asthma and whooping cough. It is useful in cases of polyps, warts, hypertension, liver chronic congestion, exagered biliary secretion and congestive headache after a heavy meal. Blood root is effective against germs living in the teeth roots (germs that destroy gum tissue, bone of the jaw where the teeth and tooth root are fixed) which are called dental plaque.
Recommended dosage : Short-term (10 days) 10 drops, 3 times daily or as recommended by your health care practitioner.
Cautions and warnings : Do not use if you are pregnant, breastfeeding or if you have glaucoma. Bloodroot is toxic in high doses.
Adverse reactions : Overdose or long-term use can cause vomiting, diarrhea, headaches and irritation of the mucous membranes may occur.
